Not sure if that would operate well on a 4GB Pi.
I suspect you’ll either need to keep the Android System always running in the background and sacrifice some of your RAM or go through a slow cold-boot every time you want to watch YouTube.
That being said, privacy friendly? Eh? I guess more than the official App but I don’t think they’re explicitly doing anything for Privacy since their focus is making sure the app keeps working amidst YouTube’s constant changes.
There’s some browser extensions that let you run the YouTube Smart TV UI on your browser but not really private. You get uBlock at best.
The most private option would be a front-end like Invidious, but it currently doesn’t have Keyboard Navigation, so possibly hard to navigate with a Remote Control, you’d need a mouse or similar device.
There’s a feature request for it but devs haven’t gotten around it yet.
Maybe you could try to bodge it with a userscript? Idk.

The way those generally work is that the entire game in encrypted so you can download it early and when the release date comes they release the encryption key.
Except this time they uploaded the game unencrypted.

If all 3 console manufacturers had it, it’d alleviate the concern publishers have of having a cross-platform release with discrepant features, thus allowing more games to support it.

It does work as a mouse by default. Valve calls it “Lizard Mode”, and you use the touchpad to move the cursor and the triggers to click.
But yeah I do agree they should have made standard buttons and sticks act as XInput and the touchpad as the mouse by default.
that being said, I fucking hate microsoft for stifling controller innovation with their antiquated ass xinput so i when i see a controller not support it i have to force myself to not think “god bless”
Correct. On top of that, the 8BitDo acts as a bog standard Xinput device without the need for Steam, so if you’re not a touchpad user there’s really no reason to get the Steam Controller over the 8BitDo.
