Love BAR! I usually play with my son’s against AI or watch pro streams. Such a great game.

Another vote for Rustdesk
I use it mostly for family tech support where MY PC is running Linux and THEY are on Windows though it works great in both directions
I pre-order some games, especially table top, through crowdfunding and do enjoy interacting with developers and their early player base during beta testing / early access especially if I’m able to contribute in some way.
Yep, that’s exactly what is happening; I’ve seen the same and just kept reminding everyone not to click on ads. Took a while but they actually got it.
I run Pihole on physical Pi’s and once configured to my liking has been quite nice. I’ve even had family compliment that they miss the ad blocking when they leave the home :)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Parents of Lemmy, how much do you spend on Christmas presents for your kids each year?English
16·3 months agoI’m trying NOT to think about that right now… We have 10 kids and 1 grandson so we’re just trying to stay in the green while having a fun time
Polarity
You’re essentially just trying to make less mistakes then your opponent but the semi-hovering magnets have an awesome table presence
This is the way. I grew up farther north (compared to now) with decent mounds from snow plows so it was just a matter of waiting for those and then tunneling into them.
These days I shovel the snow from a larger area to build my mound before tunneling. Kids love it regardless ☺️
I would like to do this with .com but has been held for several years so went with a newer TLD. It’s mostly been fine aside from occasional person whose mail provider sends me to spam or the very few who block me outright.
Just nabbed Necesse now that it’s out of early access; looking forward to playing with my kiddos :)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What’s something you own that has truly paid for itself?English
4·5 months agoAgreed. For anything beyond the simplest setup membership is the way to go especially if near enough to some of the cheaper options; we had a Planet Fitness open near us that offers $10/month for lowest tier membership (prior it was YMCA at $70/month for the family).

Blades are extremely cheap and always gives a great shave.
Elliptical and dumbbells
Gym memberships add up quick so went with a cheaper elliptical and a nice set of adjustable dumbbells.
Kobo ereader
As I get more into reading I’ve come to appreciate that this one allows loading my own ebooks from my PC which can save a ton depending on use case.

I do my own renovations and build some simple furniture etc.; my drill and miter saw in particular have been invaluable.

4·5 months agoI’m in a similar situation currently hosting Pihole on my Pi’s and Jellyfin on a SFF refurbished PC that’s running some other project. I’ve decided to go with a NUC, most likely beelink, and intend to install Proxmox to then run container VMs for each of the various projects to more easily manage them.
The board games: Nightfall, World-Z League, and Unchained.
Man… I spent a lot of time playing the original N along with some level design. Super fun times. Cool to see them still going strong.

6·5 months agoFor the Reddit communities that are important to me I use their RSS feeds to keep an eye on new posts though I’ve logged out of my account and stopped participating. All actual browsing and participation was switched entirely to Lemmy.
