  • January, I took a five day weekend and in the middle of it was actually doing things I wanted to do and having fun, instead of my usual of trudging through work, making dinner, and going straight to bed after. I think that was pretty good, I felt a little happy. Before that it was probably over a year though. I have to enjoy it when it comes, because it’s sparse and fleeting.

  • A few other good ones that come to mind:

    Axiom Verge

    Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

    Guacamelee

    Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight

    Rabi-Ribi

A Robot Named Fight (it’s basically if super metroid was a roguelike)

    Touhou Luna Nights

    Cave Story

Also, the Castlevania Advance Collection is three GBA metroidvanias, definitely worth getting if you wanna play/replay any of those.

For video games, I just beat silksong, which was super fun and pretty brutal. The art and music is phenomenal though, it’s a great game. Working on Hades 2 right now, which is also fantastic and I’d recommend.

For board games I’ve been getting my group into the Heroes 3 board game. It’s the biggest box I’ve ever seen for a game lol. It does a great job of feeling like the computer game while meeting the constraints of a board game, plus there’s lots of bits to fiddle with. Downside is its huge, so you need a big table or a group comfortable playing on the floor.
