Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he believes Prime Minister Mark Carney will back his idea for a tunnel under Highway 401 through the Greater Toronto Area.
I would love to see an east west Go style transit from Pickering to Mississauga along the 401 for electric trains. Two trains in fact. One that stops at every second major offramp intersection, and an express one that stops at every 5th. Electric trains in a tunnel ain’t so bad. Cars, not so much.
Then tie the 401 Go tunnel to the lakeshore east at the ends, and at select stations from the north south runs and we have a fucking GRID of transit.
Yeah, I would like to see more trains too, but it’s naiive to think we’ll live in a car free society, despite what the children on the fuck cars subreddit say.
