I have two

  1. figured out how to reformat an old hard drive that i needed the space to store new shows I wantef to have and was able to make room for so much stuff. It took way to long for me to sit down focused and walk thru a 5 minute youtube video explaining it and it paid off. I knew that was the solution all the while, just took a long time to buckle down and do it. I need to get more in that habit

  2. Couldnt remember debit pin and its annoyed me for a long time when i needed to withdraw cash various times. Found a forum post saying the exact process in the banks app and had it sorted out in less than a minute. Itd been like 3 months I put up with that and its just not an issue anymore

    For too long I wasn’t able to have intercourse my wife. My dick would not stay hard. I had lots of oral sex with her and I used a vibrator on her so we were having the item act, but it just isn’t as good as fucking…

    I tried a number of things and it didn’t work so I finally got some pills.

    It is nice to fuck again!

    In our guest house, whenever the laundry machine ran, half the lights would go out. It was due to the drain hose having a small leak. The water seeped down and shorted an outlet in the crawl space. So I had to:

    • fix the drain hose
    • replace the main water disconnect valve that randomly wore out and got stuck in the off position (learn about pex, buy and use a crimper tool)
    • replace some rotten wood
    • replace shorted outlet with GCFI
    • replace crawl space skirting I broke when investigating

    Ah, good times. But now it’s all fixed. For now.

    Had stinky feet throughout my whole adulthood. Always wore padded shoes with a fake leather cover, like every shoe shop throws at you with promises of them being breathable.

    Then recently bought shoes with canvas for the cover material and they single-handedly solved the problem. My feet are not always hot anymore, because I am just wearing two pieces of cloth over them (canvas+socks) rather than thick padding. And they are actually breathable, too, allowing sweat to dissipate pretty quickly.

    And if I do sweat more in the summer and they start to smell, I can chuck them into the washing machine¹ to undo that entirely.

    At the risk of wholly explaining what a cloth is, I guess, I should also mention that moisture does not just go out of the shoes more easily, but obviously also into them. So, they’re not as great of a choice for rainy days. But yeah, that tradeoff is definitely worth it for me.

    ¹) The shoes I got actually recommend putting them into the washing machine. Might not be a good idea with other canvas shoes.

    Upgrading to a Win11 machine to beat the mid-October deadline was my deal. Just about every associated hardware item needed to be replaced, and there were a bunch of small issues with the various new stuff, including me completely forgetting that a network switch is NOT a router, even though they look similar. Building a rolling, swiveling platform arm for a new monitor I needed to sit next to my bed/couch was one of the last major hurdles. Bonus pts for the new machine being hilariously tiny, to the tune of ~"5x"2x"5, but it got great reviews, and I’m loving it so far.

    So yeah, moving up to a faster, more capable system is always a treat in the end, but getting everything migrated properly and deciding what software to reinstall and what to upgrade can be a process that takes weeks, or more. Note: the “VirusTotal” site has been a big help in feeling much more secure about my new install choices.

    A few years back, I had that problem not with the PIN, but with my online PW. I’d somehow forgotten it, and wound up calling customer support for help, getting a live person to talk to. They asked me a couple personal questions, I answered, and they solved the issue within minutes. I imagine they would have done something similar with PINs.

    These days, with CS being increasingly automated and/or farmed out to other countries, I’m not sure if that would work so easily, anymore.

      windows 11 is not a faster, more capable system but one with even more bloat, including more user hostile bloat. the single advantage of it is that it still gets updates, but there are many other solutions to that.

        Indeed, I greatly look forward to upgrading this shady OS to some manner of Linux, especially once things settle down here. (any ‘flavor’ you particularly recommend?)

          fedora workstation, the KDE edition. customizable if needed, but not in the way. automatic updates in a way that almost takes care of itself, in a more stable way that’s not yet adopted by most distros. that, or opensuse leap. I think their recently released 16.0 also allows this update mechanism, but haven’t tested it yet.
          both have usa ties though: fedora is redhat, which is IBM, and suse is german but opensuse relies on american servers, including for building software. if that’s a dealbreaker, try linux mint, it’s based on debian, apparently it’s user friendly too, and I don’t understand its legal status but as I understand it’s not anchored to a business in a country.

          depending on what programs you use, maybe keep a w10 LTSC in dualboot. get it from massgrave.dev, they also have an activator tool. instead of dualboot a virtual machine could be fine too, oracle is considered a swear word here but their open source virtualbox is the most user friendly vm manager, with others you would need to edit text config files.

          if you want to use hardware accelerated video codecs on AMD graphics on fedora or suse, you will need to use the flatpak versions of video software. It’s not AMD’s fault, but a legal fuckery that most distros don’t want to risk. It’s not a huge problem because all video formats are still playable, but it consumes more cpu capacity and power.
