Energy Minister Adrian Dix said BC won’t be reinstating its own EV purchase rebates and will instead focus on strengthening the province's charging network. BC will also drop, rather than relax, the requirement that all new vehicles sold must produce zero emissions by 2035.
I’m not fully up-to-speed on the pivot to the EV mandate, but wonder if it has to do with economic outlook in the wake of trade scuffles with the U.S.? I do think this is just going to be a test of time to see whether the new strategy for increased EV production and adoption will produce better results than strategies we’ve been following so far.
