And under Carney’s latest bill C-12 that was just passed into law, immigrants who want to claim asylum for fearing for their lives in their home country after living in Canada over a year, won’t be eligible to stay anymore. That means if someone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, who knows they could face potential violence and death in their country simply for their sexual orientation or being trans, can’t claim asylum anymore.
And I won’t even go into the whole cost of living and housing and all that, nor how there’s no intervention from the federal government into Alberta’s blatant anti-trans laws.
