Eq legends is a remixed re-release of EverQuest 1 with some modified dungeons and loot, focus more on single player experience with 3x class per character, instanced zones with difficulty selector, etc. I’m curious if anyone here is looking forward to playing, boycotting due to cash shop/daybreak/thj lawsuit etc, watching streams but not planning to play themselves, etc. price tag is 20usd for the game and first month then 10 per month subscription with time locked servers releasing Kunark planned for end of year I think.

I can’t say I understand the pricing model here. With a solo-oriented game, feels to me it would have been smarter to cash in early with a $40 price tag and do something more like a Guild Wars-style drip feed of paid content instead of a subscription. Not like there isn’t tons of it to slap on. That way you get the most out of those initial sales from the people who try it from nostalgia or because they’ve always been curious, realize the jank isn’t worth it, and never turn on that subscription.
Maybe I just don’t understand what exactly is on offer here. As much fun as it’d be to do the old content I never got a chance to see, I can’t see myself doing it until the price structure changes.
