This is why gamers will continue to be screwed by the industry.

It appears that most people don’t care about spending $100 on a video game.

I’m fine with spending $100 on a video game. I mean, said video game needs to provide reasonable value, but the amount of time I play a game varies way more than game price, is the dominant factor.

I didn’t really like what I played of GTA 5 and probably won’t play this one, but for the right game, sure. If I could get a game I like similar to Oxygen Not Included, which I’ve played for many, many hours, I’d do $100 happily.

    pre-orders

Now that I will agree with being a problem.

I’d pay a $100 for a game I thought was worth that much. I’m not paying a greedy corp $100 just bc they’re bold enough to set that price.

I am steadfastly resolved to never preorder anything ever again.

Yup, absolutely agree. I have so many hours in ONI, in Factorio, in STS, that I’d happily pay more (and in a sense I have since I’ve bought STS multiple times)

$100 is probably still cheaper than I paid for N64 games with inflation.

I don’t find GTA very interesting, it’s like a gimmick of a game that gets old very fast to me, so i definitely wouldn’t spend anything on it let alone $100.

I’d love to understand the GTA hype. I’ve heard people say they’re gonna buy a playstation just for GTA

Especially nowadays when there really is no limit in supply. There really is no harm in waiting for the release the initial reviews.
