    I didn’t even know that was a restriction. I’m curious about why the change (outside of the obvious equality reasons, of course). Is there a national shortage or something?

    That was the biggest thing that annoyed me about the blood donation questions. They’d advertise “there’s a MASSIVE shortage of blood and YOU can SAVE a LIFE!” but then the eligibility questions would ask about your sexuality. Clearly the shortage wasn’t dire enough if you can afford to be homophobic about it.

        I meant more of “I wonder why Health Canada changed their policy before the case was heard in court” but fair enough, I’m not complaining that they managed to get that policy reversed (and especially in just three years. Normally that sorta thing is glacial)
