People have been chasing ICE out of neighborhoods, banning them from city properties in LA and NYC, building rap sheets to try them once the admin leaves office in Colorado, etc, but fundamentally they’re a political problem that can’t be solved with violence (without creating much much more violence and harm in the process).
If the USA starts a war with Canada many Americans will see joining Canada as a means of improving their own situation: Canada would likely offer citizenship to enlistees.
Americans would react similarly to how the general citizen of Russia has acted during the Ukraine conflict. So long as their regular lives aren’t disrupted by the conflict, the vast majority would shrug and not give a shit. Or, they’d do exactly as you just noted, and say “This is a political problem that can’t be solved with violence (without creating much much more violence and harm in the process)”.
You have way too much faith still, in a country that’s basically gone to absolute shit, while it’s people shrugged. The idea that the USA has a “revolutionary spirit” is a hollywood fantasy, and your argument just sounds like more “American exceptionalism”, the likes of which allowed them to sleep walk into fascism. “It couldn’t possibly be happening here, we’re AMERICA!”

Russian defectors helped capture territory for Ukraine in Belgorod Oblast, and a short lived Russian civil war occured not long after the war began.
And thats after decades in oppression and a century in authortarian turmoil. The USA with all its revolutionary spirit would be a far different story.
