I loved PoE2 at beta launch so much. The visual clarity, the deliberate combat, the difficulty, the art direction. Every fight was a challenge and you couldn’t just zoom along.

Poe2 launch is pretty much the opposite now. Explosions everywhere, more and more garish art direction and easier than PoE1. I know I am alone in this but I’m really sad they abandoned their original vision.

You aren’t alone, i love both old PoE 2 and the new version. We will probably get that vision back at least little bit when they release Ruthless mode for PoE 2

The people who championed ruthless (Chris and hrishi) unfortunately aren’t with the company anymore. To keep ruthless up to date is a lot of overhead. So I really doubt they will add it to PoE2.

The skill gems in armor from POE1 (free to play right now by the way) has been replaced. you now have a gem page you can open.

When POE2 goes free to play it most certainly will be worth a check if you like ARPGs. If you were going to spend money on the game pickup one of the supporter packs instead of just buying the currency. You get in game currency worth the same amount you spend on the pack plus you get more on top. But putting money into the game is entirely optional. I still would recommend getting some stash tabs on sale to support the devs.

Yes. It’s still diablo, but actually good. They just like to add unique and new stuff every once in a while

It definitely does not compare to the diablo i grew up with. I was able to play that single player and offline :\ I wish there were made-for-offline ARPGs these days but those dont make enough money to justify them

Have you tried Grim Dawn? Definitely scratched the Diablo itch for me, and can fully be played offline (only way I have played it)

Last Epoch is close to this, it has full offline mode with a faction you can join that increases drop rates and allow for more target farming in exchange of not being able to trade, which in offline is not possible anyways
