US company but I still buy them. They bailed us out and I haven’t even seen any other ketchup company. Choice here seems to be Heinz (over my dead body) or French’s. So I go with French’s. Tasty too.
However French’s yellow mustard is off the list. The red maple leaf on the bottle is misleading. Yeah they use Canadian mustard seeds but it’s made in the US. Nope, not buying. Especially since I always thought it’s made in Canada but now I look closer …
I haven’t really looked for a Canadian replacement to be honest. We have 4-5 different types of mustard in the fridge at all times. I just switched to a Germany mustard that we already use. Here is a link: https://www.londondrugs.com/products/kuhne-mustard-in-a-beer-mug-250ml/p/L1430185
The Kühne brand seems to be available in most supermarkets here in Alberta. There are better brands in specialty stores but this one does it as a daily for me.
What’s wrong with French’s?

God dammit. I thought they were the Canadian option this whole time lol
Unfortunately no. They are honourary Canadians maybe after they bailed us out here with the tomato farmers but their mustard is still a no go for me.
Is there a better Canadian option for yellow mustard?

Oh the irony, so much mustard is grown in Alberta!
Do you know any who makes mustard here?
I only know of a couple in Calgary, Brassica and Cian’s, but I am from BC. Still, it shows that we should be transporting raw goods less.
So that’s where those mugs came from.
Bonus 😉
We like Kozlik’s a lot. They’re in Toronto and in a lot of farmer’s markets. Their Market Mustard is probably the closest to yellow deli style
Aww, I thought it was Canadian…it’s my favorite.
