I sneeze and yawn just like my dad, is that genetic or learned?

As I grew up to be an adult, I am constantly reminded when I cough, that I sound like my dad coughing as he did when I was young. I didn’t grow up with my dad.

Huh, that’s interesting. I’m not deaf, but I don’t make any sound except loud sudden exhale. Besides ADHD I am neurologically normal, if that matters.

Edit: My dad sneezes turbo loud, btw.

You’re totally normal and in fact it’s the people who are, consciously or unconsciously, choosing to vocalise the “ah-choo!” that are the weird ones, at least in my book.

It actually really bugs me when people sneeze super loudly, I swear some people just do it for attention.

It annoys the hell out of me too, especially in a quiet place like a library or park and some clown does the full AAH-CHOOO like a cartoon character.

I do it when I’m alone too, who would I get attention from?

No idea why I make that sound, I don’t really think about it. When I try to suppress it it doesn’t feel right.

I wrote that it was people who sneeze “super loudly” that seem to be doing it for attention, not just anyone who makes any vocalisation at all.

Some people feel the need to turn every sneeze up to 11. Saying like a cartoon character is a good way of putting it.

      Interesting.

I kinda go “AHHHIIISSHH-HOOO”. The last vowel changes from any from the alphabet between occurrences.
