I fell down this wormhole while I was home sick a few months ago. Pretty incredible to see footage of these search-and-rescue operations.

    There’s a guy from my highschool class on that team for the past 25 years. They fly over our little town on the regular to say hi. They do some amazing work. Having been a paramedic in the past he and I chatted numerous times about some of their missions. I’ve always been a little jealous honestly.

      Very cool - I honestly had never considered the logistics of these sorts of operations, but seeing the host of these videos work out the fuel stops along the way just to make it out to the ships they’re evacuating people from has been incredible.
