I’m on a stock Samsung Galaxy S9+. I dabble in privacy using Blokada on my phone, VPN on my PC, and other adblocking extensions and features. I’m not smart enough to do rooting and sideloading. I barely know what an API or APK even does.

I hope to one day be able to absorb the knowledge of folks on here somehow.

My mother is a hard R republican and a self proclaimed Christian Nationalist and has been making excuses for the GOP since at least Nixon.

I spent about 20 some years of my life being subjected to Fox News, Limbaugh, Mike Savage, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity every single day. It was exhausting listening to all of the unhinged screaming. While I lived with her I did not seek to find who was telling the truth because I didn’t want to know how bad it really was, and I had a pretty good idea of what she would do to me if she found out I was so much as questioning the Republican ethos. So I kept my head down and my “official” stance then was that I wasn’t into politics.

I went no contact with her because she became physically abusive 16 years post-TBI. I have not spoken to her in 7 years. From what I gather from her Facebook posts, she’s still an awful person who is also falling for all AI pictures, videos and scams that support her narrative.

I have no interest in speaking to her ever again.

I briefly made my Reddit profile picture one of my drawings of a coyote. I’m not a furry, I just like drawing animals. But apparently someone didn’t see it that way and messaged me suggesting that my face get intimate with their shotgun.

I reported their message, but all they got was a warning.

Saving this for reference later.

Also would like to know if Origin has the capability to make permanent any element zapper changes. I hate having to navigate DeviantART and the various fandom/Wikia sites zapping the same things over and over.

It’ll be a hard no for any smart glasses from Meta or Google.

However, in the very distant and not quite guaranteed future, I would consider smart glasses (again, NOT by Meta/Google/etc) for accessibility.

As someone with auditory processing disorder, it would be a game changer if I had the ability to read live closed captions of what someone is saying, while they are talking to me. That would be my only use case.

I just don’t understand why someone would willingly add an unecessary middleman. Just ask the Internet directly, no need to run it through a word prediction algorithm based on input from the Internet.

All off except for texts, calls, voicemail, and like 2 other apps - discord messages or mentions (very limited, most servers I join get completely muted), and birdbuddy for most of the year until they start blowing up my phone with ads about their stupid Kickstarter, then it gets turned off.

I can’t stand unnecessary notifications. It pisses me off.

I like hanging out on Wolfhome.com - it’s a graphical chat site that’s been running near continuously since 1999. The code/UI is a bit dated but there’s a nice group of folks there.

I’m non-binary/transmasc, would I qualify for top surgery/sterilization as is or do I have to fully commit to HRT? Who do I even talk to about this? Will I get resistance from medical professionals?

Unfortunately, I live in the US and my health insurance is UHC. Do I have a snowballs chance in hell of getting gender affirming care covered by them?

A Bell & Howell 8mm/16mm projector and a handheld super 8 video camera that belonged to my dad. I’m not sure how old they are but probably late 70s/80s. From what I gather, he was very much into manual film editing.
