  • Ill preface by saying I didnt read the article. But I also think that the state of gaming today is much worse than it was in the early 2000s for millennials.

When I was growing up, games had to come out complete so they were generally much more polished. However, when the Xbox360 came out, console makers gave the ability to devs to release patched versions via updates. Initially it was a great idea - devs could fix bugs they might have missed while testing. But then this quickly spiralled into studios forcing devs to release 1/2 baked games in a horribly broken state.

I also think how much you generally have to pay for games has gone way up with respect to the cost of living. Video gaming is much more of a luxury now, than a simple past time. Plus there are so many F2P mobile games out there, that there is even less of an incentive to get into a console / PC gaming.

    • Diablo Immortal? F2P (i know theres probably micro transactions and bullshit)
    • Diablo 4? PS5 ($500 - assuming you dont have the console already) + Diablo 4 ($67) + PS Plus ($14/month) = $581 + tax

  • Your article points out the main reason why I haven’t gotten into sports; even though I’d like to follow a bit of hockey, F1, and UK soccer. It’s complicated and expensive as fuck. $50/month for a subscription, and it doesn’t even cover all of the games for the same team? I’m interested in putting something on, once in a while; but it’s not worth $50 to maybe use it once a month or two

Thank you though for putting together these highly detailed instructions that are only for educational purposes!

  • I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with an unhinged lunatic, and I’m frustrated on your behalf that the police won’t do anything. Ironically, you could call the police, threaten to kill their family, and you’ll be picked up for free and taken to a safe place the lunatic can’t get at you

I’d start by identifying what he actually knows. He’s proven he has obtained your names, phone numbers, and probably that you live in Nebraska; which is scary enough, but not enough to find you and cause harm.

Search for your names and phone numbers using multiple search engines. I would look for addresses, or places of work. If he can find out where you work, it makes it much easier for an adversary to find you. An easy place to check is LinkedIn. If there is a connection with your names and where you work, I’d speak with someone at work. Tell them you have a stalker and:

    1. Ensure any customer support agents are aware they are NEVER to provide personal information about employees, EVEN IF IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BOSS ON THE PHONE. KnowB4 has some good training resources (not sponsored)
    2. To inform you if anyone has requested you / your family’s information.

Next time he calls, you can ask him for your address. He’s been pretty up front about the knowledge he has so far, so check his homework and see how far he’s gotten. That will give you an idea if he can actually attack now, or attack later. If he doesn’t know your address / where you work, it doesn’t mean he can’t find out later. I’d also suggest to not lead with (do you know where I work?) as it will give him an idea; but maybe ask him how he plans on killing you? Gruesome, but it’ll let him blab. Maybe ask a friend to do this so you’re not up all night thinking about it.

On the protection side: Unfortunately if the police isn’t willing to help, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands. Idk what the firearm laws are like in Nebraska, but you might want to look into it for self defence. I cant answer legal questions, but I’m more than happy to talk about firearms

Do some of your own counter-intelligence yourself. Look up the guys name, email, phone number; whatever you can get (I wasn’t able to look at the Facebook profile). Build a profile against him. Might help next time you contact the police. Also, write it down somewhere and take screenshots. If he knows you’re onto him, he could delete his accounts.

Finally, speak with a lawyer. They may be able to offer additional advice and bully the courts / police into getting off their asses and helping you more

I’m sorry I can’t do more to help but offer advice and answer questions

    Good luck

  • Really? You used the NWC for kids wanting gender reassignment medical help, kids asking to be called different pronouns, and kids figuring out which sports team they want to play on?

The stakes could not be higher

Oh fuck off. How about homeless people dying because of hunger, or people getting shot up during armed robberies. Literally life and death shit. How is perverting what the fuck is going on in Lisa’s pants more important than dealing with crime and income inequality?

Danielle - you’ve got more important shit to deal with than focusing all your attention on kids’ genitalia

  • Im curious about what the law considers something to be “false advertising” or not. My guess is that false advertising focuses heavily on the final product. They’re still providing the product that’s advertised on the packaging so it’s not false advertising. But the laws around what can be classified as “Made in Canada” could be a lot looser. A product can have so many steps and parts in its creation, and each step/part can be all over the globe; so how do we define something that’s “Canadian”? (I’m assuming this is already answered in case law)
