Like bttf 1 and 2 where filmed back to back and then released a year apart from each other. That was ambitious. Nothing based on books or prior proof. They just knew they had such a banger they did 2 movies right out of the gate.

Chasing perfection was my sanity back when I was a welder.

The non existent community moderation is by design and purpose. Valve wants it that way. They refuse to be any sort of gatekeepers in it.
You’re a bit of a dumb one, eh?
Study more history. This isn’t the thing with the most dead, the most raped, or the most cruelty, or the longest lasting. It was really fucked up, sure. But the worst thing humanity has ever done?
Hell… Religion might be the worst thing humanity has ever done.
Or hitler killing like 6 million unarmed Jews, or the other slave trades that lasted far longer, or the terrible human experiments Japan did to people during ww2, or when hundreds of black people were blocked from having their syphilis cured for 50 years because scientists just wanted to see what happens, or the tons of times entire cities would be raped and pillaged and taken over with no male child left alive… I mean, there’s been so many atrocious acts done by humanity… To actually vote and say this was the worst one is just tacky.
Acknowledged? It’s always been acknowledged. This was a vote to say it was the single worst thing ever done by humanity… Ever.
This. Not the slave trades that lasted far longer, or any of the wars or rapings or genocides or slaughtering of children or ww2 human experiments or anything else. It was a vote to say that this one thing was the shittiest thing humanity has ever done.
Everyone should have voted no. The African enslavement was really fucked up, but “the worst human attrocity in history, ever”? The world has done some really, really, fucked up things. I don’t really even know why this particular slavery would be picked out from the other slaves over thousands of years except that is was pretty recent and large scale. Why is the world even voting on this shit while on the verge of world war three, while it seems that half the rich elites running the governments are pedophiles?
I got 3 things to say on this:
If the vote was to recognize it as the worst thing humanity has done, I’d vote against. I feel like there are a couple other things that were even worse. Even only considering enslavement, out of all of history, I would have reservations against saying this was the absolute worst of it.
Every country that abstained was just against it, and didn’t have the balls to vote it.
Yeah, the US is an asshole. They’re screwing it all up across the globe and they’re also why Cuba is still fucked. Eat the rich.

Looks more like he just finished Bubba again.

I could agree, but who says that devs won’t take advantage of this once it’s in widespread use, and unlike motion sensing, PC gamers are very used to adjusting their settings to get the fps and look that they want. I can’t even think of a PC game where one of the first things I did wasn’t to go muck around in the graphics settings.

I look at the face and see one image that looks like a face from a game 5 years ago, and another that looks like that face became an actual person. You couldn’t make it look like an actual person without changing some of the details from the original.
Plus, if you don’t like it, it’s 1 click away from just turning dlss off.

I’ll likely never own a 5090 at all. Definitely not two of them.
But while a lot of you are hating how that before and after looks, the after image if just straight up nicer looking and more realistic.
It shouldn’t look so realistic? Man; I’m in my 40’s. Game devs have been trying to make people in games more realistic looking my entire life. Her before image wasn’t less realistic due to artistic choice. It was because it couldn’t be done easily or run on a system.
Lara Crofts tits didn’t start as triangles for artistic reasons.

I don’t care if they exist, but you’d have to make it an 18 an over type of deal. I don’t really care how adults choose to blow their money, gambling included. You want to verify you’re over 18 so you can get loot boxes, you do you.

They can just buy used shit and not play at 4k resolution with 120fps. That stuff will also last longer now.
I just spent a few hundred to upgrade my gaming computer. I bought an old amd r5 5600x from 2020 for $150 and an old amd rx 6600 xt that came out 5 years ago.
I’m more than happy to let the “ever more demanding giant game” trend disappear. Half the games I play use pixel art graphics anyhow. If this pushes devs to make smaller and more creative games that run on decade old systems to reach the most gamers, I’m fine with this, still. Less e waste. Less constant feeling of needing newer components. Less bloatware from shitty games that want 100+GB storage.
Before prices get outrageous on 5+ year old components all these bullshit AI and data centers buying up everything will be dumping the current high end stuff out on the market to make way for newer stuff. And that’s IF the ai bubble doesn’t burst beforehand.

I gotta argue against the games costing more compared to cola. A new Nintendo game in 1988 was $40 to $50. At that time hamburger was 99 cents, a value meal from a fast food place was $4, a house was $80,000, a new car was $10k to $18k, and you were pretty much a Middle class family if you made $45k\year. Some original NES games even hit $60 a piece.
So videogames are one of the few things that haven’t kept with inflation. In no small part due to more people purchasing games and less physical overhead, but that doesn’t take away from my stance. 40 years later and a game price has gone up by like $20.

I just re-played the original (with mods to make it look nicer) last year. Hadn’t played it since like 1997 on PS. It was great nostalgia and still a great game, but obviously a bit dated in some QOL departments.
It is, however, a complete game and the story line is still good. Especially if you go into it blind. The entire materia system to give your characters powers and perks is legendary.
The OG game came out as an entire (and long) game. It’s complete. Major bonus. No bullshit having to buy a game like 3 times over a 15 year span just to get it all. Not to mention having to keep waiting for that 3rd game to release.
If you like (or think you may like) old school turn based rpg’s, then give it a shot. You should like it. If you don’t like those, avoid it, and if you haven’t ever played one, it’s not a lot of money to risk.
I do recommend getting some mods on it though. It can be made to look much better than it originally did during that awkward phase where they were making 3d games, but graphics weren’t good enough to warrant making them 3d.

I usually try to go in pretty much blind to anything I play or watch, but I watched a gaming related YouTube video that flipping ruined what I really would have wanted to not know about undertale.

You’re taking this instance of gamers far too seriously.
Well fuck
