Now that the overton window of the conservative party has shifted so far right, the PPC is effectively a pointless party, outside of Bernier wanting to be in charge, there is no reason for the PPC to exist, they will probably merge back into the CPC.

I think in the US they were taken over in 2005 but it took almost 15 years for the name to be phased out in both Canada and US. which makes this move all the more funnier.

Im almost at the point that Im too old to even remember, but I remember EB games being far more prevalent in Canada , almost every location that is currentley a Gamestop, I remember being an EB games.

Oddly enough, I also remember going to an EB Games in the US in the early to mid 00s, I was a stupid kid who had previously bought Half Life 2 back home but couldnt figure out how to launch it, So I had retunred the game to the store and bought something else. (steam was new back then). and after 20 mins of conversation they made me realize there was an activation window for putting your CD Key in. So I bought my second copy of HL2 in the US, And a week later when I got home, I was able to successfully activate it.

In the conservatives mind, this election was close, The conservative voter base has gotten even further right wing, They’re overdue for their Trump Effect takeover like what happened to the Republican party in USA. , where the party doubles down on the ideology.

the Peoples Party has been a flop for the last 3 elections, the only reason it existed was because Bernier was pissed off that he lost the Conservative leadership to Scheer (or was it Otoole?).

Im expecting a civil war within the party, the PPC will probably fold and rejoin the conservatives, and the Conservatives will go even farther right wing next time, Maple MAGA time. The loud populist conspiracy anti woke faction will probably drown out the moderate conservatives.

Side note, Carleton riding had like 20 or 30 independent candidates. I have to believe that is some specific targetting of Polievre, its only weird that we didnt see the same thing in the Neapan riding next door.

If im not mistaken, last election there was someone running in Quebec named Maxime Bernier, no relation to the PPC, but same riding. . He was a Rhino Party candidate I think.
