I think we’re doing pretty good still considering the most powerful country in the world has been attacking our country’s economy relentlessly for a year and a half and still it’s only a technical recession.

Canada just slightly thawed a frozen relationship, which we relented somewhat on Tariffs of Chinese car exports with a 50k import cap in exchange for relief of Chinese tariffs of Canola and some other foodstuffs. To march in with tariff threats again would make no sense on Canada’s part. The US has stated boldly and baldly they want to dismantle Canadian auto, what is our motivation to help the US in this regard?

Right now the US is attacking all our economies, attempting to weaken us economically so they can dominate us and make us dependent on them, just like China is doing. The middle powers should be focusing on completing free trade alliances, CETA/CPTPP/MERCOSUR etc, and get those blocks aligned. Only this will give us leverage against the predatory hegemons of the world.

I’m looking at my AM4 system with Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and RX7900 XT and thinking it’ll be 4 years. Actually, to be honest it might be the last PC i build, my great hope is Steamdeck and Steamframes have a baby and i won’t need a big box under my desk anymore.

They do more business with China than we do, she needs to give her head a shake. We are a sovereign nation, we don’t need lectures from Americans on how we conduct ourselves on the world stage, though i think they could use one.

He’s still better than ppsmol, and the NDP have a lot of reorganizing to do and have no chance of forming a government and that’s just the sad reality. I’m disappointed in Carney, this isn’t what they ran on and he has no mandate as far as i’m concerned. They are taking advantage of the peril we are in with Trump, every disaster is an opportunity with these guys.

I don’t like this at all. I’ve supported what Carney has been doing up this this point, but not on this. Enough people need to sound of against this and get him to back off.

No way in hell should China be permitted to join CPTPP. They are like the US, they don’t honour their commitments. CPTPP should treaty with EU, and soon MERCOSUR, creating a block that can give us all leverage against the large blocks like US and China. This seems the smarter strategy.
