If I can buy a game on Gog I do - their lack of DRM, Linux ports, and prices just make me happy.

Games@lemmy.world•Itch.io is delisting NSFW games due to pressure from payment processorsEnglish
2·6 months agoThose ladies are really unpopular at the moment.
Still, it further highlights just how much power over law payment processors have - a worrying thought that the morality of a company (influenced by problem life nuts) dictates international law.
Edit - autocorrect turned pro life into problem life. I am ok with this.
10/10 device - it’s a solid laptop though I worry about longevity (they’re a bastard to repair because the arts are all hard to find).
Upside is it’s the perfect machine for travel gaming!
Truth is proof - I can neither prove the number of gods is >0, nor prove it is =0.
Thus cautious agnosticism (since the evidence suggests, if there is at least one god, then they really hate us).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to tell the difference between being burnt out and just being lazy?
7·9 months agoTricky one to weigh up there. It might not be that you’re lazy, you may well just be burned out, not working effectively (i.e. overworking yourself), or it could even be imposter syndrome. On the other hand, yes you could just be lazy, or you might just really hate your job. Hell, there have been times where I’ve felt unmotivated because our leadership team were just arseholes - sometimes a lack of motivation goes beyond just your own choices.
There just isn’t enough data in a short post.
Take some leave, go get checked out by a doctor, talk to a friend/partner, take a look at job ads to see if anything sounds better than where you are.

Games@lemmy.world•6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux?English
1·10 months agoIt’s going to be purchase a new hard drive and then jump to Linux Mint this August.
It’s not an experience I am looking forward to (5080S, I do a lot of modding, and enjoy fangames/indie games which do not always play nice with linux) but needs must - the Linux community in general is very friendly, so we’ll get through it, even if the first 6 months are rough. I’ll keep the dual boot and push the windows partition to 11 if needed by work, that way I can put off rewriting my elderly access database for another few years.
Honestly, Microsoft are committing suicide when it comes to home users. It won’t be sudden, but the wheels are turning, all the IT savvy folks are switching people over (already did my aunt’s potato, mum’s demi-tato is next week). Eventually, a tipping point will be reached and offices will start switching - I hope that day comes before I die of old age!
How dare you! You can’t throw facts at puritanical arguments; that’s illegal.
