  • i heard that arson is the resons for these fires… young people, and immigrants are lighting fires, exactly the same thing happened in australia in 2019.

edit: sorry i didnt mean to create tension or anger. this is kinda sarcastic in that these words were used as the playbook in Australia, the billionaire owners dictated the narrative through their media outlets in 2019-2020 and also leveraging a great social media campaign.

for reference Australia in 2019 experienced the worst bushfire season ever. the media repeated the claims that arson was to blame, they continually shifted the conversation to deliberately lit fires to deflect attention away from other causes eg climate change, government cutbacks on forestry management, completely ignoring the experts who were screaming that 2019 was set to be the worst in every aspect because they used the words "climate change"…

it worked really well. it worked so well that even our prime minester simply went on holidays the leader of australia was so incompetent that he could not even stage a resonable photo shoot

the next phase that was implemented by the media was to also indicate that the environmentalists were also to blame as they prevented the use of traditional bush fire management practices further deepening distrust in environmental policies or action.

having experienced the horror, displacement, financial loss and upending of my life, my family, and my communities lives during and for years after 2019 i want to tell you that i feel for your loss and dismay of the fires that will impact your lives, communities and country for years to come.

I think your governemnt is more competent than what we had but it does not replace the need to openly admit that the world is burning because of a select few people ignoring the overwhelming disaster that effects everyone.
