I’ve noticed grocers are attempting to skirt the definitions by claiming things are “prepared” in Canada, even if the product itself is foreign. I’m sure that’s how they’ll attempt to get by this lawsuit.

Instagram is not a news source.

Definitely should be a national suit. Not sure how it will apply given differences in Québec’s legal system, but I don’t understand how it could not be considered misleading for a store to label the origin of a product differently than what is stated on the product.
Which part? The southern prairie has ‘grid’ roads (magenta; literally roads in a grid, every mile E/W, every two N/S), with highways connecting the many towns and cities, settled because of agriculture. Then the northern shield (forest) has roads where they fit best to mainly indigenous communities.

It seems there are a fair few newer Co-op grocery stores that have been constructed in various places in Saskatchewan in the past decade. Co-op seems fairly successful in more rural locations and they’re often the only store in many small towns. Being diversified in hardware/building materials, fuel, ag, and grocery probably helps too.
As long as a nationalized grocery chain also has the underlying distribution network, it should be able to be successful.

TBH I just did a quick web search on my phone and picked the first one. Apologies.

I use Ultimate Updater connected to gotify to tell me which machines have updates with a noti every day. I can then run update and it will take snapshots and upgrade everything when needed.
It really only does linux systems and wont do docker, but there’s watchtower (the one that’s still alive) to do that.

Best to look at the actual product label. Even produce will usually have its origin on the sticker.

AB and SK have among the higher electricity rates across all the provinces, but not by a considerable amount.
I agree, solar (with storage) does make sense for a community not connected to the grid and using generators locally, but a community being there thus makes it a populated place.
Is there a shortage of panels? I had no trouble getting mine and there’s been no indication from suppliers that stock is limited.

Ah yes, my mistake, we should definitely be considering the solar PV that’s going to be serving the grid in unpopulated parts of the country.
Still, my statement is still true when considering the north.

AND we have less sunlight.
Perhaps in BC, yes, but the rest of Canada has higher solar potential than much of Europe.

I’m playing this now and was going to mention it as well. It’s quite fun and engaging both in the main plot and side quests.

LXC on the host for me. Make sure it never backs itself up though.

Makes sense…if we primarily used print still. Not so much for online articles.

Right, at least I think so.
Controversial B.C. RCMP unit to police the opposition to fast-tracked resource projects

Well, that headline took a few reads to figure out. Is it frowned upon to use the word ‘the’ these days?

It’s mentioned in the article,
“The only power that workers have is to withdraw their labour,” [Gil McGowan] said. “If you take that away from them, the workers have no real leverage.”
"By giving the minister the unilateral right to break strikes and send workers back to work against their will, the minister and the government are making a mockery of the collective bargaining process.”
It’s a dangerous norm if employers can just rely on the government to swoop in and block a strike with little consideration for the workers. Glad the workers took a stand in this instance and hopefully it empowers others in the future.

We need any rail yesterday.
Some don’t have the capital or spare parts lying around to build their own on premises server. A VPS is an easy, secure way to get started in the hobby. No need to gatekeep.
