Keep it out? Smith herself has been flying down to the US to meet with the Heritage Foundation. The entire thing is backed by US fascists.

$2.16/L last I saw a station near me.

Filled it out. I live in Vancouver which is rainy for a large part of the year. Driving in the dark in the rain with modern headlights glaring in my face makes it impossible to drive. That’s not a hyperbole either; I’ve literally had to pull over and let cars pass because I could no longer see the road or road markings.

Those sort of people would never vote for NDP anyway regardless of their party policies.

Most of the stuff that was said back when I was in school were slurs. Like nearly every spoken sentence contained at least one slur.

Chinese EVs will have a considerable market presence already by the time the Cons get another shot at government, even longer if they lose again.
Canadians are desperate for affordable EVs so they’re going to sell like a hot damn. What are the Cons going to do, tell a huge amount of vehicle owners and buyers in Canada to go to hell? Rhetorical question; of course they are.
Additionally, this is just yet another Con move of trying to cosy up to the US and appease them and their market. Reading the room for even 5 seconds should make it very obvious that Canadians are not interested in that. The US boycott is still going like wildfire.

I prefer earlier darkness in the evening.

I’m in BC and I’m glad we’re not doing the changes again. That said, I do wish we stuck with standard time instead, but I’ll get used to it.

I’ve had a personal boycott against EA (and Ubisoft, Activision, etc) for over 10 years now and time and time again I get reminded how good of an idea it was.
Also helped by the fact that EA titles are like $100 now and I’d much rather burn that money for a few minutes of heat than give it to the criminals at EA.

I never once said nor even implied that they were poor refugees and neither did Lumelore. We just said that rich people are to blame for the housing crisis. Rampant wealth inequality means that the majority of people on earth are not rich. Only a very very tiny few at the very top of the economic pyramid actually are.
Drop the strawmanning. It does no you favours.

She could’ve worded it better, but she’s not wrong either. Immigrants are not rich people. I’m not a rich person, you’re not a rich person. The majority of Canadians, the majority of the world are not rich people. The overwhelming majority of people are not wealthy property-hoarders and are not the reason why we have a housing crisis.
The blame, as always, falls on the elitist ruling class that hoards wealth and resources to make the rest of us suffer for their gain.

I’ve heard numerous times that serving on a jury is actually very interesting and can be very fulfilling.
The problem is that it takes a sledgehammer to your life and routine and the system tells you to go fuck yourself. The financial compensation you are given is pathetic and they have no issues summoning you even if you live hours from the courthouse. There are a lot of people that would be homeless if they couldn’t get excused from jury duty, and thankfully they do include financial hardship as a reason for being excused, but still. This results in our jury panels frequently being comprised of older people who are wealthy enough to spend weeks away from work, or are retired. That is not an impartial, unbiased jury of your peers.
I was summoned early last year and my excusal request was basically: “I’m disabled, have no car, and live in an entirely different city from the courthouse. wtf do you expect me to do?”

I’m legitimately surprised. I figured this would’ve been slammed through after the right pockets were lined.

Many news agencies that operate in Canada (and claim to be Canadian) are owned by Americans, including several mentioned in this article. Post Media needs to be kicked out of the country.

Triple O’s (local chain) is my favourite.
McD’s for 2nd least favourite due to giving me the runs every time. Burger King for 1st least favourite for being disgusting.

Don’t worry, I’m sure they will get a hefty $10,000 fine.

In an ideal world Canada would not need to choose between such nations for economic stability but we got caught with our pants down and need to scramble for solutions fast.
China has been greatly expanding their projection of soft power while the US surrendered theirs almost entirely to focus on hard power. Surprising literally nobody, making threats of invasion and abducting leaders of other nations is a great way to drive away your (ex) allies and trade partners.

I’m so fuckin tired of Israel.
That has basically been the status quo for the past year. If you want something to succeed you have to keep it on the down-low so Trump doesn’t notice otherwise he’ll rip it to shreds in a tantrum.
The US is being governed by someone who is much alike the insane kings you read about in history books and fantasy novels.
