Yeah, but what about $7.99?

Here’s something I do that helps with “feeling old” when people point out things that happened 20 or so years ago.

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion came out 20 years ago, but what was I actually doing 20 years ago? I was like 10 or 11 years old in middle school and my brother’s friend let him borrow the game over the weekend. It was my first open world RPG and I was so excited to play it and could barely even comprehend how big it was. I’ve basically lived two thirds of my life since then. My first job, moving out of my parents, my first apartment, getting my drivers license, my first car, my first real girlfriend, all of my neices and nephews being born, going to an amusement park for the first time, going to a movie theater for the first time, and basically everything else I can think of because I sure as shit don’t remember much from before I was 10 years old. So pretty much everything important that has ever happened in my entire life was between the time of Oblivion coming out and now.

So yeah, we are definitely getting older. But that doesn’t mean the time in between was just nothing. It feels like 2006 was yesterday because we often gloss over everything in between and don’t really focus on what was actually going on in our lives at the time.

I feel like 75% of the hate for this game is literally just because they had a trailer at the end of the game awards that nobody liked. I kinda feel bad for the devs. The game isn’t amazing, but it doesn’t deserve this much hate.

Well, yeah. I already have one. My company gave me a $500 Amazon giftcard for Christmas even though I never use Amazon so I spent it on something I didn’t really want that much. Besides that, even my neice amd nephew weren’t excited about it and were like “it only has like two games.”

And I don’t know… Mussolini basically became Hitlers bitch by the second half of WWII and Hitler made fascism what it is today. Hitler took everything that Mussolini did with fascism and made it more efficient and better suited for his purposes, at least in the beginning. Trump isn’t doing anything like that. He’s just copying other authoritarians and doing a slapped ass job in the process. If anything, Hitler would be disappointed with Trump on how ennificent he is.

They honestly should have expected this given peoples visceral reaction to anything AI. Personally, I have huge problems with AI and refuse to play most games that have used it. I think it’s poisoning every creative industry and replacing important jobs while using vague the excuse that it makes things “easier” while making the game soulless in the process. I’m willing to give Larian the benefit of the doubt simply because of their previous games being amazing, but imma wait for the reviews on this one. This game is still going to be in development for another 4 years and none of us will no what’ll happen between then and now, but for now I’ll remain hopefully optimistic

With the money they made from BG3 they have the means to make Divinity the best it can possibly be and I couldn’t be happier for them. The first two Divinity games were great, don’t get me wrong, but they were basically low budget when compared to the money they got from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast to make BG3. I imagine they basically have “fuck you” money now and can do whatever the hell they want. They definitely deserve it and I can’t wait.

Edit: Turns out Larian is going to use gen AI for concept art. I guess fuck all those concept artists trying to get entry level jobs. Very disappointed.

I don’t know about y’all, but my email consists 95% of confirmation emails and password reset requests. Not saying this isn’t a major privacy violation, just that it doesn’t seem like a good source of data unless the purpose is to make automated emails but with extra steps.

Back in like the late 2010s it was an old coworker of mine. He came in two years after i started and swooped in and took the promotion I was gonna get because he went to highschool with my bosses daughter. I’d be more mad at the boss but this guy was absolutely insufferable about it and would boast about it literally every day and talk about how awesome he was. Would always talk about how amazing he was at his job but would crack under pressure pretty much every time. He was also one of those guys that’s nice to your face but talks mad shit when you leave the room. Huge “fuckboy” energy too and always felt like he was entitled to everything. He was the kinda guy that would try to fuck your ex girlfriend the day you broke up yet still be friendly to your face. And I know that because my ex told me about it after the fact. Bro straight up sent her a request on Snapchat and Facebook out of the blue within a week after only meeting her once before.

Glad I don’t work with that guy anymore and that I have a much better job. That guy lives rent free in my head and I fucking hate that he does.

This is purely anecdotal, but I have been running into a lot of DNS issues over the past couple months where I work. 3 of the computers and even one of the laptops for remote work were having DNS issues that needed to be fixed. One even needed Windows reinstalled after fixing the DNS issue (Which was probably unrelated, but worth mentioning)

I’m honestly starting to think that the internet in general might be imploding. Not sure why, but replacing so many developers and programmers with AI might be responsible. Who knows, but it’s definitely very strange.

Last I heard there was a massive problem with cheaters and are planning a lot of microtransactions. Like, I’ve heard that in some cases every other lobby has a cheater. Not sure if that’s still an issue, but if it is imma still avoid it. It was definitely fun when it first came out and I hope they do something about the cheaters or already have done something about the cheaters.

This was probably on the back burner and barely being worked on until they saw if Oblivion Remastered would be successful or not. They’re under Microsoft now and they could get shut down for any and every reason. And especially so if they waste money on developing a game that wouldn’t be profitable.

As much as I hate the idea of remastering all their games instead of just making another fucking game, Fallout 3 is incredibly unplayable on modern PCs. You have to spend 5 hours modding it just to get it to work properly and even then it will still crash 4 times in the span of one day.

I played it too and I 100% agree. However, I feel like it’s always a good thing to keep in mind that the best time to play an online shooter is when it first comes out. That way you get to at least have fun before all the casual people move on to other games and the sweaty people are the only ones left. My friends convinced me to try Fortnite just a couple years ago and all that happened was I got stomped every match and was like “this is fun for you guys?” I’ve been playing Overwatch since release and it’s basically impossible to get a match I’d consider “fun,” so to speak. I just wanted to get in on the fun for Battlefield before it turned into all sweats. Now I’d prefer to just avoid it all together.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked for Battlefield 6. Haven’t played one since 3 and all my friends were gonna get it. Guess I’ll just go fuck myself and keeping playing Overwatch or something.

Who are the ones really celebrating his death? The ones that thought he was an asshole or the ones that are using his death in every way possible to push their own personal agendas? I betcha in private these people are laughing their asses off and being waaaay more disrespectful than any of us have been.

The fucked up part is that if those two were actually in a room together they’d probably have a lot more in common with each other than even they realize.

I mean, if the person that wanted to shoot children didn’t have a gun this would have never happened. They always come up with the most complicated reasons for why we don’t need gun control, but if this person didn’t have a gun this would have never happened. They’ll talk about mental health and antidepressants all day (while defunding all those programs) but as soon as you mention gun control it’s a “political issue.” They’ll gloss over and ignore mass shooters as just something that happens yet if someone was holding a gun to the head of someone they love they wouldn’t just sit there and respect that person’s gun rights.

It’s in bad taste but I don’t think it’s for a bad reason. I understand what you have all been through and truly despise the hate for you, but someone needs to shove a mirror into the faces of these fucking idiots and show them how dumb they look. Will it work on most of them? No, probably not. But for every one of these articles out there I’m sure there’s at least one person realizing how stupid they look. It’s not a big change, but any step forward is good news. When I was a kid gay marriage was still illegal. Nowadays most of the kids growing up don’t give two shits about your sexuality because their parents are focused on gender now.

I’m not trying to say that your struggle isn’t real and that a lot of these people aren’t just fucked in the head, I’m just trying to say that even in dark times like this there is always a chance to help someone realize they are an asshole. If every republican was a complete sociopath we’d have gone full fascism decades ago. They’re just ignorant and scared because that’s exactly how the new regime wanted them. My parents are hardcore republican but are also surprisingly cool with my brother having a transgender girlfriend and my little sister being transgender. They’re ignorant and don’t understand it, but they’re not actively against it.

You should have seen what republicans were saying before the identity came out. I saw comments like “this is a hate crime. I bet we all know what ethnicity they’ll be” or “in a democratic city. Big surprise” or “can’t wait to see the libs talk about the crime rates.”

To be fair, I’m pretty sure 80% of republicans on Reddit are bots or Russian after going through their communities. Every post has less than 500 upvotes unless it’s big news. Half the posts are just pandering with like 50 upvotes and one comment saying something like “Go Trump!” And nothing else yet they have over a million subscribers on some of them. I honestly feel like it’s just bots talking to each other akin to dead internet theory. The only time there are actual in depth comments is on big news and the highest upvoted comments are usually calling Trump out when he does something shitty. They were pissed about the flag thing just as much as everyone else. And if it’s not constructive they will say the exact same thing about people on the left about being in a cult that the left says about them.

This is just my opinion, but I think the internet is the cause of most of the division between left and right. Both sides say the other is in a cult and absolutely crazy. Both sides say the other is falling for all the propaganda. And both sides consider the other evil in every aspect of the word. When Epstein comes up the left says “I don’t care if Clinton is in them, lock them all up.” When Epstein comes up the right says “I don’t care if Trump is in them, lock them all up.” Like, I feel like if we all just sat the fuck down and talked it out we’d all come to the same conclusions on a lot of the issues that have divided us. Of course, I speak mostly of republicans, not MAGA. They’re basically a different group entirely within republicans right now, especially offline.

But at the end of the day, the republicans have really fucked up the US in so many ways. They unknowingly, and some knowingly which is the worst part, voted for fascism. Never forgive them for what they did. But at least give them a chance to make it right when they realized they fucked up. A lot of them are ignorant, not stupid. You can’t teach stupid, but you can teach the ignorant.
