I just let them figure it out lol. They should have saved for retirement or an old folks home. They are adults who can read, they can figure out Medicaid/Medicare to get what they need accomplished. In a dire situation I would allow them to move in with me where I am. I clawed my way to independence with zero assistance from them. In fact they purposely sabotaged me at times so I’m not sacrificing my entire life to care for them.

Part 1: yes, abort

Pat 2: you’d have to be blind to not see that your child has down syndrome for a week. Not much you can do at this point outside of putting the child in the system to be abused and abandoned or murdering it so this is the point where I become stuck with a mentally challenged child.
