That’s what people said before the last pipeline was built through BC. The federal government bailed it out and it got built anyway.

Here’s a question: why doesn’t Alberta invest in a refinery or two? Instead of extracting oil and selling it internationally, they could extract it, refine it, and sell it in-country.

Lie detector tests essentially test your gullibility and your ability to maintain calm under stress.
Funny thing is, there’s better pay, more reliable work, and access to the exact same information without the top secret clearance in the private sector.
So having said all that, it’s trivially easy to accidentally or even intentionally leak something. It’s even possible to do so without immediately getting caught.

And this is why we can’t have nice things.

Diversification is good. When do we get some offshore wave farms?

$9billion in projected economic activity? Wouldn’t that be money they’re EXTRACTING from the local economy?

Potential downside?
Does anyone have a potential upside besides tax income for the city?

It really depends; they’ve only got enough people to make noise at the “separate from Canada” stage. After that, some of them want to be a sovereign nation and others want to join the US. Some just want to escape the existing federal government. None of these options are tenable of course.
The reality is that even when you lump all these groups together, there’s very few Albertans involved. Most of the hubris is organized south of the border.

“In other news, the CAF is now taking over the Rogers Pass, which will be cleared with sonic booms.”
It’s interesting that the guns are so old now that they’re no longer relevant to the modern army.

What??? I was thinking that they’d stick such a thing somewhere like Castlegar, where there’s already power generation and no potential for water and energy shortages, plus a community benefit for the added jobs.
Sticking it in the most expensive real estate in BC, where there’s already water rationing and a heavy drain on power generation?
I fail to see ANY upsides.

Thanks, Trump!

Seems like a standard trade negotiation move?
Portray your side as the most accommodating, and then act outraged when the other side tries to alter the deal. The only way to negotiate with the US currently.
That’s assuming that this isn’t just the first stage of full capitulation.

It’s also not a watermelon.
What it is, in fact, is a trade deal.

Yeah, but dual earners each earning $115k means they’re earning $230 combined which is well over the threshold for a first home purchase, even in Vancouver. Or did they mean combined salary?

Is it just me, or did they never get around to answering the question?
In my area, the required combined income for a first time home was $120,000 back in 2017; I can only imagine it’s gone way up since then, considering property values have doubled.

Why would the struggling MP for Battle River-Crowfoot be backing an airport expansion in Toronto?

Of course it won’t.
The only way to get kids off social media is to provide them a better alternative. And budgets are being cut for youth programs.

So now is not a wise time to get old in BC.
The issue appears to be that they cancelled projects that appear to have inadequate budget management.
Southern as in through Idaho and Washington State?
