For those unfamiliar with the majestic GOO-ee-duk.
Because the timing of her death triggered the court to (eventually) go majority bonkers.
I don’t doubt that, I haven’t looked into it, but her life didn’t affect me as strongly as her death.

Taking the question literally, I’ll say Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Huh. I would have guessed that they would try to get consumers to subscribe to as many providers as possible and constantly suggest new ones (social media style)

That’s a reason why I much prefer the term “machine learning” (and cringe a bit at even that) to AI for anything short of AGI.
I do certainly think it’s a great achievement to have computers able to ‘hear’ and ‘see’ for example, but I don’t think that was ever properly “intelligence” on its own.
And don’t get me started on pathfinding/combat algorithms for NPCs in games.
It’s pretty metal though:
“There’s a world outside your window
And it’s a world of dreaded fear
Where the only water flowing
Is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom”
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
We know with great precision what they are now.
At least its twin the alphabet song is actually quite useful to have memorized.

About a decade ago I had family business in the southern states. I found that gas was less than half the price there than in home state at the time. Probably still similar.
I assume that’s why the article has a dateline in Georgia.
Well, there was the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

I’ve had good luck with rubbing alcohol to remove the gooey mess. You’ll end up with bare plastic instead of the rubber grip, but that’s an improvement over sticky.

The local PBS station carried a science show called Newton’s Apple. Not only was the content amazing to a nerdy kid, the theme song was way too cool for a PBS show.
That and Animaniacs.

The title made me think you were looking for stuff like QWOP.

Genuinely surprised that nothing old-school made the list: NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, A2600, etc.
I actually think that’s a universal truth. One’s own accent is boring or even feels “non-existent” (it exists) but it may be very attractive to someone else with a different one.

Besides the other comment about Yu-gi-oh, there’s even This from the major card game franchise.
Me.
A lot has and continues to go wrong, but mostly self-repairing. At some point some failure will be unrecoverable, but hopefully that’s a long time in the future.
An even better answer might be my cats. The small number of repairs that need professional assistance are cheaper than the same issues would be for myself. However I don’t expect them to last as long, unfortunately. Even though I got them very nearly brand new a few years ago.
You forgot to mention that the book is nonfiction, this really happened.
I liked the post—I absolutely liked the post.
(I enjoyed the article also)
