In a corporatocracy? Then I agree with you. Otherwise we have a government that’s not working for the people. That’s the big issue here. I think you may mean that the corps truly control everything and the government is just a façade? Who knows anymore. The one basic thing that I know is that everyone should have access to food, shelter, and warmth. Not just smug gangs who throw their money together.
It’s our government being paid of by lobbyists and not passing solid worker legislation that’s the problem. In the meantime there are pockets of the protected “exclusive club members” ,while most others are left hanging in the wind.

I think more people are not even on the ships than those that are, but that’s a good old trope. It gets pulled up often, over time, while we get further and further from universal collectivism. But you and your union buddies are on the ships so it’s all good.
If a union, a subset of the citizenry, causes hardships for the rest of the citizenry by striking, then fuck them. Also, let’s start passing laws to protect the working citizens who are the social fabric of the country, then maybe we could wean ourselves off of paying our hard-earned money to a middle-man who will “protect” us.
Theses telecom companies charge the most anywhere in the world and will do as little as possible to adhere to regulations while always trying to slip something past the regulators. “Business” is now a dirty word, not a contributor to a healthy economy. Anyone remember the CRTC cable price slash directive and how the media companies handled it?
Well, there is always a lot of unrelated negativity you can throw in on anything. I do it myself. I’ll take the community mail boxes as a small win though. This may lead to “Hey, I’ll take you shopping anytime!” from one of the neighbours. We need a strong local community again.
I like the idea of community mail boxes bringing the local community together. Hell, I don’t even know a lot of my city neighbours. This could work out nicely, especially if neighbours bring mail to their other neighbours who have trouble with mobility. That and less tax money spent. Good all around.

I prefer trade paperbacks over the initial first-run hardcovers because they are easier to carry around. I will carry around a big old heavy hardcover if there is no paperback though. The only drawback with this is, sometimes there is not enough light to read, and the book machines provide that.
Carney is an old school money guy and that is in his wheelhouse. Hopefully the ridiculous gas prices will propel and support the EV’s, causing them to be included faster.

I’m Canadian. I knew this was coming based on the fact that I haven’t been able to watch the Canadian National Football Championship on TV for about the last ten years or so. You have to have a paid subscription to TSN in order to watch the Grey Cup. What a farce.
