Yet the pattern is that selling Canadian stuff to private investors will still happen. I hope it doesn’t though. This era should be a sea change where we learn from our past mistakes, not make them all over again because it’s easier.

I went home for a family reunion last year and found out that all of my Roman Catholic cousins no longer go to church now that they are adult and on their own. Reminded me of the old line by Lenny Bruce (paraphrased) “People are leaving the church in droves to find God!”.

The corporations have always taken advantage of the “new” laws that help them. Why is it a troublesome if the people do the same?

I no longer care about the big fat North American auto industry. They’ve gone too far. Let’s get some of those affordable Chinese EV’s for the masses who can no longer afford those giant 60 thousand dollar plus vehicles!

Canada just recently auctioned off all of the stockpiled american booze they pulled from the liquor store shelves and donated the proceeds to charity. Go Canada! Go Greenland! Go Mexico!

Make it a utility again and stream line it. Not everything needs to be a “for profit” entity. Nobody needs mail delivery 5 days a week. Use community mailboxes instead of door-to-door. It’ll bring the citizens closer over time and that community feel will return again. Lots of ideas could be produced to make it better and the best thing is it’s not rocket science so we don’t need to pay a consultant huge amounts of cash to think for us.

The insurance companies just hate this. Now a $100 tooth extraction will no longer cost $700 plus a $100 referral fee which, don’t worry, you’ll get back.

At least for a little while.

It was over the July long weekend and I bought the return ticket at the same time as the destination ticket. I guess it wasn’t normal over the long weekend, but still. I couldn’t even take a Greyhound bus home, as they no longer exist. The world is winding down.

Not the prairies though. Last year I took a VIA Rail train 6 hours west of Winnipeg. I had to wait 6 days until an eastbound train could take me back home. They used to run daily.
