That airline sounds like the stereotypical corporate BS we’ve all grown used to now. Not asking in an asshole way, but because I want to understand: did you have a receipt?
I have carried $100-500 sometimes as high as $2k in my wallet for decades without a problem. Usually on the lower end of the 100-500 range unless I think I’ll need it.
This might be a problem for someone who can’t hold onto their belongings and leaves a trail of lost things everywhere they go. It might also be a problem for someone who lives in an area with high petty crime where they can expect to get jumped every once in a while. This is unlikely to be a problem for most people in the US states and European countries I’ve spent time in. Even in Argentina, which is not the safest place, I use cash exclusively.
As others have mentioned, when it starts getting into that $500-$1k range, you always have checks, wire transfers, Western Union, etc. I’m not selling out my privacy for a $5 bagel if I can help it.
Has friend 2 set his name servers to something custom, or is he using your network’s default? My partner uses an iPhone and it has some sort of built in DNS so she doesn’t benefit from me installing DNS based adblock on the network. You could see if a similar thing is at play.
This link redirects into a full screen epilepsy flashing banner ad for me. Anyone else?
You can sync Obsidian with your own storage location. There are plugins to do a lot of what you’re asking for. Downside is that it’s not open source, though your content is all stored in plaintext so you won’t lose it due to lock-in. It also might be more than your asking for and a simpler, more tailored, solution may be out there. Paired with a self hosted Nextcloud server, you may solve a bunch of your PIM needs at once.
I thought Land O’ Lakes was a co-op and the CEO/Janitor salaries are way less imbalanced than at most companies? Unless I’m missing something, they’re no Telsa, Amazon, Monsanto equivilant. I find it odd they made the list.
CBC does some great investigative reporting. I live in the US, but when they infiltrate scams and show how businesses are lying to us, this is exactly what my local alternative paper used to do when they had the money to do it. I am thankful CBC exists. You guys are S tier together with NPR.
If you can get alphahores from South America, they are small, often prepackaged, cookies of various brands and are excellent. Not sure if there is distribution in Canada but I encountered them in Argentina and Chile.
It might be a dumb question, but how does it have it’s own OS like a NAS, or is it basically a box attached to the host and everything is done via software? I encountered some confusion between enclosures, DAS, USB array and some of the other terms I was seeing.
