xavier666 — the symmetrical 320 Mbps you mentioned? I ran the same setup on a 520q and the firewall VM saw ~310 Mbps UDP egress even with virtio. Once I swapped in a PCIe Intel I350 card for pass-through, it jumped to 960 Mbps TCP without tuning. For LAN traffic, the Proxmox host only sees ARP and DHCP unless you bridge eth2 directly to OPNsense’s LAN port, so your switch handles everything else. The loop risk on eth3 is real if you bridge it to the LAN bridge—use a separate OVS bridge with STP off for the management port or you’ll crash the weekend.
