I always found the concept of the screen cool but incredibly unnecessary and wasteful.

Define “server”:
If you mean any process that serves on the network well then of course you can.
If you mean multiple containerized stacks acting as a service then yes, you can do that too.
If you mean multiple operating systems, I’m not so sure but I can’t imagine that it’s impossible.
Right. But Arizona is on permanent Standard Time. The comment I was responding to claimed Daylight Saving Time is being abolished but it’s a permanent switch to Daylight Saving Time under a new name. Mountain Standard Time (Arizona) matches that of Pacific Daylight Saving Time (BC); if they both switched to Standard or Daylight Saving Time they wouldn’t be on the same hour.
I keep seeing tons of comments like “it’s so good to have permanent morning sunlight” that are just false and I think a big part of that is comments that completely misunderstand the change.
Isn’t it a permanent change to Daylight Saving Time? There’s no switch back to Standard Time in November.

It will permanently move daylight into the evening, not into the morning. Standard Time is that which keeps it in the morning.

And it happens like, obnoxiously often.

Damn, what the hell is going on over there?

I don’t use it but I would recommend Kopia due to its content-defined chunking, deduplication, etc. I’m writing a fork of it that allows any RClone adapter to work as the frontend or backend but it won’t be released for quite some time.
Otherwise I sync most my files to Backblaze by hand from time to time using Rclone and client-side encryption.

Of course! He has a Chinese name!

I just use one of those insulated double walled bottles most people have these days. It keeps beverages hot or cold for hours.

But why would someone want to build a bot net of cellular devices? Talk about a shitty connection.

This is honestly so fucking cool and I can’t put my finger on why. I guess I imagine that everything is so tied up in software that a low level hardware “hack” like this wouldn’t even be considered.

Be careful if there’s a public IP address. I think some operating systems even include IPv6 with 0.0.0.0 so that if there’s a public one assigned this might open it up to the world.

For me it’s also the same with “hubby”

How does this hack even still work in 2026? Nobody has DNSSEC? Web browsers didn’t notice that TLS was probably forged? This is like, such an easy hack that I’m flabbergasted would even work.
Shit, I remember learning this kind of thing when I was like 15 (I’m in my late thirties).
I second PocketID if all you’re looking for is Passkeys + forward-auth. The others are overkill.

I’d just add both Gmail and another email account to a desktop email client, then simply drag the emails from one provider to the other.

I really tried to use a “usb” install for a long time but could never get kernel upgrades (and some other packages) to work correctly.
These days I do a “sys” install but mount /var/log and some other directories to RAM.
I can’t answer your question but I can say as a vegan that different fake cheeses are best for different things. My suggestions would vary wildly based on what food you’re using it for.
