Civ 3 was the first game in the series that didn’t feel like a big improvement (graphics aside of course). but you always love your first Civ.

I had that game for the Atari 2600 and unlike E.T, it was a great game.

I still have my copy in my own little museum in my office with some of my favorite (or in this case most notorious) games. Does that count?

Glad to hear that they just rolled with it.

I have seen Gwar live more than any other band (well over ten times), and it was always a good time. I haven’t seen them since Oderus (Brockie) died though, but their new lead singer was the original Beefcake, so I’d still like to go again if I can.

A 33MHz DX 486was great. If you got stuck with a slower SX CPU, things were frequently not so hot.

I’ve had great luck using Intel NUCs as home servers and HTPC boxes. Since those are now gone, I have found that Beelink is the most cost effective replacement when I needed to revamp the setup. My biggest complaint on them is that the cooling fans on them are not super reliable and it is not easy to find compatible replacements. I had to order them direct from China and there are a few wiring incompatible variants. I ended up with one of them being the wrong type and I had to resolder the leads to match the existing broken fan.

I bought one last year and when I need to replace a TV, I will do it again.

I would never consider that BS, so I forgot about that heh

Your description of flying is still accurate.
It can be used to send money to people that don’t have a bank account. These people sadly exist, like some of my family. That said, being pressured to send them money by them lying could definitely be considered a scam :)

On the dry beans vs canned beans issue, I am firmly in the “it depends” camp. If you don’t plan your meals ahead of time, then dry beans become difficult to cook as you need to soak them overnight and take much longer to cook. The price of dry beans can be significantly cheaper, but strangely, not so much at a normal grocery store. I found that buying dried beans in bulk or in large bags is wildly cheaper, but most standard grocery stores (in the US) don’t offer them like that so your savings are minimal and don’t justify the the extra prep to me.

I can’t conceive of a better answer than this.
Calm down Dahmer
You could do stuff like that with the older DOS versions of Norton Utilities. I used to do fun stuff like set my friend’s files as the drive label. He thought I was basically a wizard.

Season 1 is based on the first book, which was made some a bunch of serials in a fiction magazine. It’s honestly pretty spot on with the book and the following books and seasons are fully linear.

I was an early Plex user and I ditched it completely when they first started the cloud account bullshit. There weren’t as many good options at the time, but I just switched to a very simple dlna media server that my TVs supported. Now of course we have a wealth of options and Plex makes even less sense to me, but I can see lots of people will keep using it due to inertia.
I thought of another one. There is a minigame in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 called Tiger! Tiger that is great. it is basically an arcade game where getting certain scores gives you credits that can be redeemed for upgrades for some characters. The minigame is randomized and has three different difficulty tiers and is overall really well done.
Not sure if it will count, but the Ancient Cave in Lufia 2 (SNES) was a game in and of itself. It was basically a roguelike dungeon. 100 random floors, it reverts you to level 1 and there were rare special items you could sometimes find in runs that could be brought back in. Beating the Ancient Cave is much, much harder and more rewarding than beating the game itself (storyline aside).
Nice, thanks. The Steam backlog must grow.
