    People need journalism because you can’t believe the horse’s mouth and you don’t have time to do deep investigation into every suspicious activity by people in power.

    There are thankfully more options than “the horse’s mouth” and “social media”, but unfortunately those options are dwindling

      that’s why social media is taking over

      journalism lost its purpose as the bastion of research and context and truth over the last 40-50 years (i blame murdoch)

      indeed journalism has led us toward social media

      at least if you get it from the horse’s mouth you can maybe get the facts unfiltered and make your own conclusions by continuing to gather facts and cross reference
