Today’s game is Undertale. I’m sure everyone and their mother knows this game so i’m not going to go too in depth about it. I had originally picked up and dropped this game so many times though. Growing up i watched a playthrough and kind of spoiled it for myself, so i figured “Hey, i know like everything about this game. I don’t really need to play it”. So i never did. I did pick it up though for 2 dollars, just in case. After playing OneShot though, it made me really want to give this another try, so i did.

I’m having a lot more fun than i had expected with this. I think it’s a combination of just age (so being able to appreciate some of the jokes) and time (so i don’t remember it as clearly).

I ended up naming myself Link as a stupid joke. I saw the name picker and it was a RPG and just couldn’t help myself. I wasn’t really sure what to pick to begin with so i figured “why not”.

The “combat” definitely lends itself to my enjoyment. I’m enjoying how diverse the Act options are. Trying to figure out which one to use is like a puzzle in itself. And reading context clues is a fun game for me (ironic considering i suck at it) so the game play has a lot to offer me despite already knowing the twists and such.

Anyways, so Undertale is my new “Currently Playing” game until i either get bored, burnt out, or suddenly hop tracks over to another game. All of which are likely for me to do. Still, i would like to stick with it.

I played this game years after its release, luckily without spoilers, but I had heard a LOT about it and how great it was.
It’s one of the very few instances of a game living up to its hype. Loved every second of it! The humour is always on point, gameplay is unique, soundtrack is on fire, and the story’s not bad either. I only had minor grievances with it, but nothing that made it drop below a 9/10 for me.
