    Glenn Purves, who left the public sector in January 2025 to work as an economist at the BlackRock Investment Institute, is coming back to the government fold as Carney’s deputy minister of international trade.

      At least it makes it abundantly clear to anyone paying attention who is behind the wheel of our democracy. It explains why we rarely get what we vote for. And no, it’s not FPTP’s fault. FPTP just exacerbates the problems. Another finance bro is runnung Germany, elected under one of the best electoral systems there is.
