Interim B.C. Conservative leader Trevor Halford said financial markets are telling the government that “B.C. is going broke,” and he said it is time for government to table a budget that restores confidence.
A “budget that restores confidence” by Conservatives, is pretty much the same budget as BCNDP, with more cruelty signaling (rightwing dogwhistles which is their version of virtue signaling), and either:
- a liquidation of a valuable public asset to pretend you “balanced the books” this budget, screwing the province in the long run, or
- straight up lying and hiding the deficit in other places, well enough so that the inspectors general/ombudsman/public auditors can only find them after the next election.
