VICTORIA — British Columbia's credit rating has been downgraded, but Premier David Eby said government made a "very clear choice" between making cuts to
Interim B.C. Conservative leader Trevor Halford said financial markets are telling the government that “B.C. is going broke,” and he said it is time for government to table a budget that restores confidence.
A “budget that restores confidence” by Conservatives, is pretty much the same budget as BCNDP, with more cruelty signaling (rightwing dogwhistles which is their version of virtue signaling), and either:
a liquidation of a valuable public asset to pretend you “balanced the books” this budget, screwing the province in the long run, or
straight up lying and hiding the deficit in other places, well enough so that the inspectors general/ombudsman/public auditors can only find them after the next election.
