British Columbia health officials say the Canadian who fell ill with hantavirus on a cruise ship stricken with an outbreak earlier this spring has recovered.
Ya for sure, I’d probably be annoyed by that too. I just never understood why they even bothered to say, we’ll quarantine them below the universally accepted incubation period, and then reassess and hold longer if needed, which they ended up doing.
Why not just say we’ll hold them for this known incubation period, and then reassess if we need to hold them longer. Just seemed completely unnecessary to say what they originally said.

Bad/incomplete initial research regarding how (and how well) testing for hantavirus is supposed to work? Someone muffed the press release? Stupid mistakes do happen, and they seem to have sorted it in time.
Well, beyond the high end is fine in terms of safety for the general population—just a little annoying for anyone being quarantined.

I guess that’s possible ya, in the rush to having to deal with it shit can happen. And ya, I’m just glad they fixed it.
