    Of course, but that isn’t going to drive consumer demand in a good direction and studios are already shutting down left and right.

    They don’t need to switch to a streaming model in order to charge subscription fees, and streaming isn’t going to bring any benefit to the player (and comes with huge drawbacks if, for example, you have shitty internet speeds or data caps), so again I’ll ask why? It’s just adding tons of unnecessary bandwidth usage over the current model but offers no benefit that I can see to anyone involved.

      no yeah it sucks for everybody. the only reason execs want it is because power, but execs famously don’t understand how anything works on the ground
