Some of the distributed pamphlets read:
“Gao disguises himself as an anti‑communism activist and has set up a special YouTube channel to spread false information on behalf of the CCP, steer public opinion, and defame real anti-communism activists and the Canadians who are against the CCP.”
They also accused Gao of taking money from the CCP.
Throughout the livestreams, protestors could be heard chanting in English and Mandarin “CCP spy,” “stinky dog poop,” “trash,” “we all hate your guts,” and “everybody on this cul-de-sac hates you.”
I know exactly how Gao feels. I wonder how much money I would be awarded?
An enemy of my enemy is my enemy?
There’s a good object lesson here: someone who generally agrees with you but criticizes something you do might have a point and not just be working for the enemy.
Making a positive comment about the accomplishments of the Chinese should not be met with vindictive racist blather about being a communist sympathizer and CCP operative. China is doing some amazing things on the world stage but is met by cries of ‘enemy, enemy, enemy’, even though China under the CPP has never once mentioned attacking or even unilaterally invoking military action against ANY western country.
