Canada is “selling” assets in the sense that we’re charging for access to resources that require large amounts of investment, research, and development. These aren’t all transactional, rather these can and should lead to deeper partnerships and long-term exchanges of technology.
The US-Israel-Iran conflict has no sign of ending. I suspect the Middle East will have to re-align behind Iran as the US seems to be experiencing institutional dementia. At this rate, the world will have to cope with the supply shocks from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for much longer than anyone would like.
Canada has the products the world needs to keep industry going. We can make these deals to fill the gap, and these deals will continue to keep Canada as a desirable place to live. We’re also a bulwark to basically the loss of Rule of Law to the United States.
These resources should be nationalized and owned by the public through a crown Corp. Instead of letting U.S. businesses snatch up everything and selling it back to us at a much higher price due to economic conflicts.
And these resources can potentially be used in conflicts like the Palestinian genocide.
At the very least, we should find better economic partners.
You asked where the money was coming from, I told you the artical says at the bottom.
I could see an argument that charging companies a tax would dissuade them from coming to Canada. I think this is fine, we can see the general results of race to the bottom in the states.
You’ve defended what we’ve been doing since at least the 80s and it hasn’t worked well for most Canadians. Theres a well respected book “capital in the 21st century” that details why, and provides remedy: taxes.
Your handle is Tesladecyple, elon is a well known price of shit. Be bettee
They benefit from our infrastructure, education and health-care services to deliver their goods, have specialized employees and healthy workers, but they’re not paying into the system. AND they get taxpayer funded welfare all the fucking time.

Carney is just Harper 2. Harper sold off Alberta oil rights to the Chinese, and when they abandoned the wells, the Ottawa leftists take up the tab.
100%
And where are we supposed to get the trillions needed to get these developed AND the money to build non-market housing?
At the end of the article: tax profits and wealth. I’m hoping this means corporate taxes.

You should check out the results in countries that did what Avi wants to do. Spoiler alert: communism is much worse.
Tesla (Nikola Tesla) was a great scientist and an inventor well before that asshat Elon used his name for the Nazi mobile. Educate yourself.
Taxation is not communism, its not anywhere near communism. I don’t know how you could have made that jump.
Yes everyone in 2026 is going to assume you meant the scientist, go back to having sex with your pidgeon.
Public ownership of everything is communism. Do you even know what he’s proposing?
Make companies pay for their fucking share.
