IMO making it a municipal thing just opens the doors for them to abuse the legal system. Better to keep this at the store policy level and support the businesses with good policies.
If your local pool doesn’t have rules contact their administration. Much, MUCH, lower bar with more immediate and permanent results.
Correct. Surreptitious recording is per se illegal almost everywhere in Canada not just bathrooms or being where someone could be in a state of undress is simply an enhancement.
Easier to police someone with a camera than someone wearing glasses.
The problem is that being filmed by someone wearing glasses who may or may not have tampered with the already way too small indicator light is much less obvious than someone pointing a phone or camera at you.

As long as the glasses are paired with a small computer (perhaps a smartphone or Raspberry Pi) and all data is processed on said device I can get behind such a setup.

A camera is a camera, doesn’t matter what it’s attached to, you’re legally expected a level of privacy in those areas.
Hence there is no need for additional laws, since it’s already illegal. I still think it doesn’t hurt to be explicit because someone somewhere will find a loophole.

Is this really even a question? Can’t show up to a pool and creep with a big obvious camera, but making the camera more hidden might make it okay? Seems we need updated enforcement not new rules.

Yes. No discussion about it. I don’t live in Canada anymore, but public pools here have never let you bring anything like that with you — like cameras or phones.
I would suggest that all the pools agree on this or they’ll end up putting a “speedo” rule in place to prevent people from sneaking in recording devices.
