A separatist party narrowly won Quebec’s election on Monday, a result that could make it tougher for Prime Minister Mark Carney to maintain national unity against U.S. President Donald Trump. Provisional results showed the province of 9 million had opted for the Parti Quebecois of Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, which is promising to hold a referendum on breaking ⁠from Canada once Trump leaves office.

    well it’s been just over 30 years since the last one so we’re long overdue for another one considering the one before that was in 1980. I expect they’ll try again in another 15 to 30 years.
