See this seems like a nationalist thing but it’s also a systemic illiteracy thing
Making a wild guess here, Canada has higher literacy than USA. Checking my “wild guess”:

I’m also pretty danged sure we, US citizens, maybe not our government, need more friends.
Edit: And for a long time have needed better education. sigh.
Canada has the highest percentage of university educated people in the world.
