And the thing being discussed here is aboriginal title rights and water use rights. They haven’t been granted ownership of the property, which currently belongs to others, who have purchased it from a chain of people who were originally granted ownership by a colony that didn’t own it.
Exactly. BC never completed its treaty process, preferring instead to simply steal the land.
If BC wants to take this to SCoC they may find themselves in bigger trouble.
Which means they don’t have treaties to respect. I don’t believe how many comments I see saying they have to respect the treaties. But no they don’t.
