Vivendi remained the majority shareholder of the new entity, and chose to appoint Bobby Kotick as the CEO.
Activision-Blizzard didn’t buy-out majority control until ‘13 - well after the enshittification began.
The first 2-3 or so years of overwatch was good. Role queue ruined it and ow2 was the final nail in the coffin. Arguably to your point, it wouldn’t have been so bad if they weren’t pushing for OWL so hard with balancing.
