I wish the NDP had a competitive position. Would love to see a true coalition where the parties needed eachother to actually agree and not just rubber stamp a different type of crazy.
Fingers crossed they can take advantage of their momentum and the PC’s loss thereof!
Historically, the NDP’s have been quite useful in coalitions, they know how to put pressure on the other parties.

She’s 100% correct here, I’ve seen it myself in discussions here on Lemmy too. Any criticisms of Carney and his policies are met with accusations of American support by people who appear to view politics like a zero-sum game.
I forgot to mention one of his mps is pushing for surveillance bill c-22.
Originally Bill C-2, which was defeated, so now they’re trying Bill C-22 and are trying to bypass the process. They did it immediately, too.

On this one I have to disagree he has publicly stated support for airport privatization.
On Pharmacare we need him to clarify his position and soon as that expansion, if tied to increasing Canadian generic drug production, could both be a lifeline to people without coverage but also a boon for our generic drug manufacturers e.g Apotex Jamp Mint Odan etc. We have one of the largest generic drug manufacturing capacities in the world and without the quality issues that plague India - we should be expanding that. No reason we can’t expand generic production and tie it to federal pharmacare expansion.
