Every time there is an article criticizing Carney’s domestic economic policies, there are invariably comments saying how he is better than PP and the reasonable choice in the last election.
Folks, that election took place in April 2025. That’s a year and a half ago. Nobody is litigating the last election any more. It is really pointless and annoying to keep bringing up that election in Fall 2026. It really doesn’t add anything to the discussion.
Now what do we do? Now how to we pressure this government and resist its right wing choices?
Read their 2025 platform and hold them accountable for their promises.
Is PP still the party leader? This the party position change?
No?
We’re at most 2½ years away from the next election. Let’s not react by going further right.
It’s good then that there are not only two options.
Mark Carney said he supported proportional representation but never brought it up again.
There’s that joke about armies being very prepared to fight the previous war. Ask yourself instead: are PP’s chances of winning anywhere near as they were before the last election? Is the public opinion, economic situation, political balance of forces at all comparable with April 2025?

The Canadian government is governing like neoliberalism never proved to be a disastrous and useless economic system. They are creating the conditions for the next conservative populist to find a fertile ground of economic resentment. Let’s react by going to the left.
Canada was always going to move right during the last election. I’m just impressed we kept the damage to right-light instead of going full stupid.

Right? It’s not like there was a center leaning left party or an enviro party that you could vote for or anything.
If you legitimately believe voting for either of those parties would have prevented pp PM you’re ignorant.
My riding went from blue to red. I canvassed to make that happen. Did I feel conflicted? Yes. But red is better than blue and there wasn’t a snowflake’s chance in hell we could elect orange or green here.
I’m already on board with Avi Lewis NDP. But he was late to the party.
Blue and red are the same. That’s not my opinion, that’s reflected in LPC policy and months of floor crossing.
If you canvassed LPC but you’re on board with the NDP only now, I feel like Lewis isn’t the only one who’s late to the party.
Is anyone else just so super tired?
