Can you imagine a Muslim opinion columnist being platformed to say that some leftist Muslim like Zohran Mamdani or Elif Eralp should be “taken care of” citing some story from the Quran?

    Salman Rushdie vibes.

So Goldstein is saying Lewis should be killed for his moderate opinions on an ongoing tragedy that involves Lewis’ VERY OWN cultural identity?

This is absurd. Nothing will happen here, but it should. This is not how Canada operates, and no one cares what your imaginary friend or bedtime stories tell you.

The entire security apparatuses of nations are based specifically against leftists. Gun laws, surveillance, ‘emergency powers’, lots of shit like that. One major reason behind the glut of surveillance and so-called age verification laws are entirely to lock as many dissidents out as possible. The amount of breeches and data leaks will be incredible but that is also part of the plan… It allows as many blackmailers and the authorities to buy the leaked data again remove any access safeguards they might have had.

National post is antisemitic. Revoke the press passes and kick the republican hedge funded post media rags out of my country.

      National post is antisemitic.

It’s also homophobic and traitorous, with Editorials from a convicted fraudster who got pardoned by Trump.

Remember when news media had conflicts of interests that would lead to dismissal?

My favorite is Jesse Kline, an absolute useful idiot, and his cutting edge analysis of Trudeau banning plastic bags as a WAR ON BRINGING THINGS HOME FROM THE STORE.

NatPo basically did the shrewd, Ayn Randian Fountainhead analysis and found that an outrage machine sells papers even as print media is dying and social media is ascendant.

Their rationale? It ain’t honest, but it’s much.

American newspaper agitates for the death of a Canadian politician? That seems like foreign interference. I wonder what the government will do about it.

when a Jew endangers the Jewish community, the community is obligated to stop them.

We are left with no choice but to say, “this person does not represent us, they have no connection with us and we will not tolerate being made unsafe, even if it’s by one of our own.” The wellbeing of the community comes first.

What I find odd is that this Jewish writer cites their religious story as biblical.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/yoni-goldstein-jewish-law-tells-us-how-to-deal-with-avi-lewis

Tonight Yom Kippur begins, the most sombre moment of the Jewish calendar. It’s a time of atonement - a time to grieve those who have been lost, a time to acknowledge and take responsibility for harms we have caused, individually and collectively. For Jewish people, the personal has always been political and the political always personal. This year I’m reflecting on the fact that we failed to do our part to stop an ongoing genocide committed in our name. There are many other fronts where I have to do the work of repair. But nothing on this scale.

Holy dear jeebus, I don’t know where to begin. The same physical threat that was used against Yitzhak Rabin before he got killed, or what conclusions non-Jews would draw about Jewish law from the excerpt the author uses to call on “dealing” with Avi Lewis. I think this shit, stated with this sort of authority it’s stated, will turn non-zero people into antisemites. It’s crazy.

They do, do they? I think someone should deal with their Canadian broadcast license, and call them and all post media outlets out for what they are: Propaganda outlets for an adversarial foreign entity. They are a threat to national security and even they don’t care who knows it, and I’d like to see the Carney government act on that.

A better option would be to ban foreign owned news media. If this shit continues then they can deal with it on a case by case basis.

Canadians should be getting news from Canadians if they’re a Canadians business.

None of this masquerading as Canadian.

We are left with no choice but to say, “this person does not represent us, they have no connection with us and we will not tolerate being made unsafe, even if it’s by one of our own.” The wellbeing of the community comes first.

Who gets to feel safe in this world?

If it takes a fortress to feel safe, ringed with walls and guns and drones and autonomous killing machines and economies of scale and re-written histories and questionable trade deals and a monopoly on the use of force… well, safety is a small element of fortification. It’s expensive to exclude, control, and puppetmaster all those who are “threats,” at home and throughout the world.

Its a short list of those who do, it seems, get to “feel safe.” They are, simultaneously, doing some pretty horrible things to EVERYONE else.

    • the Israeli political establishment and their boosters.

    • the Russian oligarchic class and associates

    • the transnational End Times Fascism boosters

    • the evangelists of MAGA and alternative facts

    • the bunker-builders and titanic energy consumers

    • the scammers, crypto-bros, and manosphere influncers

Meanwhile, many lowly humans want to afford food AND energy AND shelter. Maybe to stop being spit on for turning away from Groupthink. Health care (physical and mental) and education would be nice. None of us who struggle at these most basic bar get to “feel safe.”

We are absent human security. It would be great to re-institute the principle of Tikkun Olam — saving one life to save the world. Safeguarding the notion that the “wellbeing of our [collective] community comes first.”
